I’m crazy about these book ends Brett made for a Visual Arts 4-H project. They turned out so cool and are a great fit in his room. I like simple crafts that come together easily and this is one of them. Brett is 11, almost 12, and he created these himself with little help. Dad gave him some spray paint pointers.
DIY Army Guy Book Ends
- Wood base: Choose an unfinished wood piece with weight. We layered two pieces for extra weight and interest. Unfinished wood pieces are from Michael’s.
- Hot glue
- Army guy figurines (currently at Target in the dollar section – 9 figurines for $3!) or other figure, like an animal. Find something that fits on your base and is proportionate.
- Gloss spray paint
Glued together, before spray painting. Brett wanted his to match but any combination of figurines would work.
Spray painting – several applications required.
