Pillsbury Pie Crusts | Blueberry Crumble Pie

I bake often but pies are not really one of my specialties. I’m more likely to make a cake, cookies or bars. Although, when berries are finally in season here in Wisconsin, a pie is a must. Sometimes making pie crust seems labor intensive and it keeps me from actually making a pie. I like to use Pillsbury Pie Crusts to quickly make a delicious and impressive pie. A friend shared this recipe me with so I knew it must be good but I took a shortcut and made the Williams-Sonoma Blueberry Crumble Pie recipe using Pillsbury premade pie crusts.

Pillsbury Pie Crusts Blueberry Crumble Pie

By May and then June, the blueberries at our grocery store starts to carry blueberries from out of state. They are usually 2 pints /$4 and they are delicious. So sweet and flavorful! I buy two pints each week to eat with yogurt, in fruit salads or to mix in muffins or pancakes. They’re great by the handful too, for a snack.

Pillsbury Pie Crusts come in a box of two but for this recipe, you will need just one since the crust is topped with a crumble mixture. It really is as simple as unrolling, filling and baking! If you aren’t going to use the second crust immediately, it can be frozen to be used at a later date.

Then, because you saved so much time on your pie crust, you can move on to other things like making the part that really matters, the filling!

All the good ingredients – berries, butter, sugar, and cinnamon!

Flour, sugar, cinnamon, and salt are stirred together before cutting in the butter to make the crumble topping.
A beautiful pie in the works!
See how that ready-made pie crust simplified things? {Maybe I shouldn’t give away all my secrets…}  I’ve made pie crusts many times and it’s not really all that hard but believe me, this is easier. What’s better – hardly ever have pie because you don’t like making pie crust, or having pie more often because using Pillsbury Pie Crusts is easy?
<<< You know my answer to that!

A crisp and crunchy crumb topping is the perfect match for a juicy berry pie filling. You can substitute fresh, wild blueberries for the more standard, domestic cultivated berries in this pie. These intensely flavored wild berries are usually available during the heat of summer.
