I’ve been wanting some geoboards for a while now so when I found this tutorial on Play Create Explore I decided to make them. Super easy!
This activity fits right in our with our rainbow fun when we use stretchy craft loops (I found a package at Michael’s for about $5.00) for making shapes & designs.
This type of geoboard works best on the carpet because it slips around on the table otherwise due to the screw heads on the back of the board. I think just adding a piece of craft foam or drawer liner to the back will solve that problem.
I bought the pegboard at Home Depot. Someone very helpfully cut one down to the size I needed, about (2) 1’ x 1’. I will use the leftover piece for another project. Less than $15 for 2.
Ideas for geoboards, depending on age:
- making shapes, “make a shape with three sides”, etc.
- Copying pictures
- forming letters & numbers
- make patterns to follow {another project on my list}

They are Colorful Craft Loops used for weaving, crocheting, braiding, hooking. You can buy them separate from the loom. http://www.amazon.com/Made-Me-Junior-Weaving-Loom/dp/B0041D8VRQ/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1307556794&sr=8-9
