PEEPS – Sugared Marshmallow Love!

We always had marshmallow PEEPs at home at Easter time. I believe this was because my Mom liked them!
One of my favorite marshmallow PEEP memories is:  Sneaking into the box and eating all the ears off the rabbits. Then I {we? I believe this may have been all my doing! Old enough to know better! It was just a joke.} .. waited until they were found. It wasn’t long before Mom found them and she did think it was really funny! Although, she probably wasn’t thrilled.

Mom always liked her PEEPS slightly stale. Now I’d eat them pretty much either way, but not super hard. I recall once, I found some under the couch. She laughed and said she was leaving them there to get stale.  She probably doesn’t remember that. It seems like it was a Sunday afternoon ~ when my Mom actually had time to sit down in the living room.  Recently she told me she likes them about 2 days stale.

Personally, I like them as soon as I can open them. Lavender just taste better to me.  You’ll just have to try all the colors to be sure. And I only buy bunnies. I always call PEEPS marshmallow bunnies. Just my preference!

I’m so pleased that my son now likes marshmallow PEEPS.  He was disappointed to hear the last box was gone…I promised to buy more soon.

Once I was inspired by PEEPS to make homemade sugared marshmallows. It was fun, but they weren’t quite as good as the real deal!

I *adore* these PEEPS push up cupcake treats! {As seen on Love from the Oven. I found it on Pinterest.} I might attempt these yet before PEEPs are gone from the stores from this season.
