Rainbow Fish Story, Craft, Activity
After reading The Rainbow Fish We’ve made a variety of rainbow fish over the years, but this time, we used this template and glued on tissue squares and pieces of foil to make Rainbow Fish. They can be decorated on both sides to hang on a mobile or decorate a bulletin board.
The foil pieces are special, like Rainbow fish’s shiny scales!
Preschoolers love to playing fishing games! To make our homemade fishing game, I cut basic fish shapes from colored craft foam and clipped on circle shaped paperclips that I already had. I found misc dowels in the garage and tied on fishing line and hot glued some magnets to the end. Very fun! Now we can use these fish again, like this winter when we need something new to do! You can also play “go fish” with this Melissa and Doug fishing set.
Fishing takes concentration and patience – skills we all need to work on. Identifying colors and counting can be the focus of this activity as well.
