Our theme for all of June is Rainbows! Or colorful activities of any kind. I’m really excited about this theme and inspired to have so much fun. This might be the most fun I’ve had in a long time! There are sooo many great ideas on the ECE and family blogs, it’s such a great resource. Each week throughout June I will share what we’ve done. I thought I’d do one post each Friday, but I think there will be too much for a post/week! I’ve gathered a lot of ideas, have a calendar written out with additional ideas besides so I’m hoping we can do it all.
This is a short week, just Wed-Friday, but we’ve already had a colorful few days!
Color Wheel: Download a printable template here {it’s free, I made it}
We used more paint to mix and make our own pictures. Let’s just say this little guy fully experiences everything he does!
Fruit Loop necklaces – doubles as a yummy treat
We also made rainbow spinners, an idea from: Pink and Green Mama Crafts: Rainbow Fun Art Camp Lesson Plans EBook It’s a great resource, by the way, that really got me started on this month’s theme.
I didn’t find that making it as suggested worked for us though, so we used a wood skewer through the center {with the sharp tip cut off.} It worked great! The kids really enjoyed them.
Outside art time!
Other fun activities this week:
Ice Cube Painting on Fabric
Slushies!
