At the Pond Shape Snake

What animals live around the pond? Turtles, snakes, tadpoles, frogs, and ducks are just a few. However you feel about snakes, they do live around ponds. Of course, snakes are not this large around ponds, or nearly as friendly looking, but our shape snake was a fun shape activity for the whole group.

Along with our other Mother Goose Time activities, we made a stamped shape snake as a group activity.

Using our large shape stamps and jumbo stamp pads, the children stamped shapes on the snake shape I cut from a roll of large paper.

The kids loved stamping the shapes and switching colors to try them all out. After stamping the snake, it seemed like he needed a more than a paper tongue and a large googly eye rather than one that was just drawn on. It really gave him some personality!

Our colorful shape snake is on display on the wall. The kids were thrilled to show it to their parents.stamping shape snake

A fun way to learn about colors, shapes, and creatures that live around the pond.
