Groundhog Day Activities & Printable Song Card

It’s still winter in Wisconsin… it’s pretty clear after the 8 or 9″ of snow and -10 wind chills but it’s still fun to think about spring with a fun groundhog prediction and these fun Groundhog Day Activities & Printable Song Card. Yesterday was the big day but I’ll share what we did for someone’s inspiration next year. We listened to the story Wake Up, Groundhog! Then we made a pop up groundhog puppet using:

Materials:

• Groundhog Pattern
• craft stick
• construction paper
• song/rhyme

Directions:

• Color groundhog pattern and cut out.
• Tape to craft stick.
• Make a puppet pocket. Fold a piece of construction paper length wise. Cute in half. Cut angled sides. Tape or glue.
• Cut a notch in the bottom for the craft stick.

I’m a little groundhog, 
Fat and brown. 
I live in my den
Under the ground.
If I see my shadow, 
Then I know
We’ll have six more 
Weeks of snow.
