Melty Hearts

I love this idea, I call melty hearts, found on Club Chica Circle, a site I definitely need to check out more. Lots of great ideas there!

These are so simple! A fast, rewarding project.

  1. Preheat oven to 400*F.
  2. Place metal cookie cutters on a parchment lined pan.
  3. Fill cookie cutter with one layer of Perler beads. The blue/black heart was made with Glow in the Dark Perler beads from Craftprojectideas.com that came in a rainy day kit they sent me a few months ago. They do look a little different than the others after melting, but great results!
  4. Melt in the oven for 10 minutes.
  5. Allow beads to cool and harden before removing cookie cutter.

Melty Hearts

Use whatever color beads you have. Be creative! They all turned out beautiful and can be displayed all year long.

I tried it too. Problem: i cannot get it out of the cookie cutter! What to do?

It should press out with a little pressure. Otherwise, I would try to warm it up again and then carefully remove it when warm. Hope that helps.
