I’ve used a handy little Please knock…it’s nap time Printable Sign for years during child care nap time. It works great to alert visitors that it’s nap time and to please knock.
It doesn’t always work but 9 times out of 10 is good! My mail person and UPS/FedEx delivery people know not to ring the bell. Often I find packages outside the door, not even realizing someone has stopped by.
The sign is also a reminder to parents who come in during nap time, that they should be quiet because, well, sometimes they’re not.
My group naps very well {with background music} and most would sleep through a doorbell ring, but you know how that seemingly louder than loud noise during/towards the end of nap wakes up your napper when you’re rushing around trying to get a few more things done just before nap time is over?? Ugh, that’s the worst. It never goes well when little ones get woken up early!

and then this one that has an extra little line that says:
“you wake ‘em, you take ‘em”.
Just kidding! Sorta….

Just print the sign on cardstock or photo paper, laminate and trim to size. I hang mine, facing out, on a suction cup in the sidelight window next to my doorbell.
Ahhh….nap time!

Dang…where was this when my daughter was a baby? When I ordered pizza once, I put a note on the order (did this online) to not ring the doorbell LOL. She is 3 1/2 now, so she rarely naps.
Good
Thank you so much for the printable! I’m printing one today. I’m tired of my baby girl waking up startled whenever the UPS guy comes to our house. He likes to bang on the door like he’s the police (I wish I was exaggerating) and then ring the door bell (why both? I have no clue). She wakes up crying and can’t calm down, no matter what I do, for a very long time. It’s heartbreaking. Thank you so much!
Aww, I hope this helps!
