This is the first time we’ve tried this Ocean Jewels Fine Motor Activity Montessori-inspired fine motor activity. It uses bathtub suction cup type decor mats that are turned upside down. I found these beach themed shapes at Target.
Ocean Jewels Fine Motor Activity
I put out two different styles of small tongs but this proved difficult for some so they also used their fingers, which is just fine. This activity can also be done with water droppers and colored water.
The idea is to work on those fine motor skills and develop small hand muscles that will later be used for holding a pencil correctly.
