I don’t know about you, but I like to get to know my son’s teacher. What better way to start than to ply he or she with gifts! He’s a good student, but it all helps! Ha.

Supplies:

  • 12″ Floral & Craft Ring
  • Burlap ribbon
  • markers – I used Expo Neon Window Markers, 80’s Glam Sharpies & Mr. Sketch scented markers
  • Hot glue
  • Removeable Glue Dots
  • Ribbon, choice of decorative accessories

I shopped Office Max for a great assortment of markers to use for my marker wreath project. Office Max is a great place to get all of your school supplies with great back to school pricing and savings.

This project is intended to be used as unique teacher gift or back to school DIY/craft for teachers so the markers are usable. Forty-one markers in all!

First I started wrapping and gluing the burlap ribbon onto the wreath base.

There. It’s all wrapped. Now to add some bright colors!

I started laying the markers out in the order I wanted them. I grouped like colors together, lighter to darker. The Sharpies were my base and then I worked in the Mr. Sketch Markers and the Expo Neon Markers.

To attach the markers, I used two removable Glue Dots on each pen. While this worked quite well, I discovered a small amount of hot glue holds them even better and they are still removable and usable. I’d recommend using a little hot glue to adhere the markers but apply it below the caps so the caps don’t inadvertently get glued on! There may be a little hot glue to peel off the pens but it comes off easily enough.

Finish up with a few decorative pieces like a wood cutout apple, a canvas banner or clip-on mini chalkboard.

“♥ to learn” banner – what teacher wouldn’t like the sound of that?
