I didn’t attend the Blogher conference, but it was right nearby in Chicago this year. I would like to go next time it is in Chicago! What a lot of fun going on in that city with all those ladies and blogging energy. I don’t even know the half of what all goes on for Blogher, but I do hear, it’s the parties & events that you want to go to!
I was very excited to be invited by Mom Central for the World of Whirlpool event on Thursday evening!
What is “World of Whirlpool”?
It is a flagship brand and product experience center, featuring 12 operational kitchens on the penthouse of the over 100-year-old historical Reed Murdoch Building.

Nearly 30,000-SF, the $5M “World of Whirlpool Corporation” facility is designed to create excitement around Whirlpool Corporation brands by creating a destination environment that attracts and engages trade customers, designers and influencers to experience the brands in interactive, state-of-the-art environments.
The World of Whirlpool is an eco-focused brand experience center, which opened at the end of 2010. This exclusive venue isn’t open to the public, uses extensive day lighting, and features several full kitchens and working laundry rooms.
Excitement for sure! What a beautiful center to showcase Jenn-Air, Maytag, Whirlpool and Kitchen-Aid.
What I attended, was basically a cocktail party. In the beautiful place. With awesome appliances. And a view. Spectacular food. Talented people!
Some of the appetizers
- Shell pasta: aged cheddar fondue, bacon, chives, crispy onion
- Key lime: almond cake, white chocolate, coconut streusel
- Gazpacho: shaved Parmesan cheese and crispy onion
Blogger events- social event where it’s okay for everyone to be on their phones!
I could enjoy a Maytag kitchen!
Culinary gardens, outdoor kitchen & grills
Everything was beautiful!
I enjoyed meeting Stacy DeBroff, CEO and Founder of Mom Central Consulting! What an amazing job she’s doing connecting brands and Moms!
Well, there wasn’t much time to meet as many others as I’d like, enjoy the time and take it all in but what a nice time from Whirlpool!
Biggest surprise of the night was while waiting for the shuttle and Chrissy, “Outlaw Mom” came up to me and said “Are you Share & Remember”? And yes, she mentioned my Rainbow Rice post that went crazy on Pinterest and in blog land. It was neat to meet up with another “kid blogger”!
She said on Instagram: Recognized one of my first blogging inspirations @shareandremember at #blogher13! She’s lovely IRL.
Isn’t that nice? Otherwise, I didn’t know anyone. It was nice to meet her right away. Overall, an excellent first experience at a blogger event! Next I’ll be posting about attending the Starbucks event at the Oak & Rush location.
