Simple Water Drinking Tip to Boost Your Daily Hydration

Now that January is nearly over let’s check in and see how those New Year’s resolutions are going. Some progress, but not so good? Same here. Go easy on yourself. Life is busy, and it isn’t easy to create new habits and make big changes. You do have to give yourself a break and enjoy life, too! Read on for a simple water drinking tip to increase your water intake.

One Simple Water Drinking Tip to easily get in 68 oz of water every day

I’m not doing so well on the exercise front, but I have a good tip to help you drink eight glasses of water daily. I’m a big fan of water, but I know many are not. Even though I like water, I still have to try to drink enough.

Why Drinking Water Is Essential for Health and Well-Being

Water intake is necessary for health since the body is composed of 60% water. Throughout the day, we lose fluids through skin evaporation, breathing, and normal body functions.

Drinking water can also help control calorie intake. If you drink water, you’re not drinking sweetened, high-calorie beverages. Reducing food calories makes you feel full and more satisfied. Water also helps energize your muscles and keeps your skin looking great. Of course, drinking water keeps all systems functioning well.

Benefits of Drinking Water

Drinking water benefits various aspects of health, such as digestion, metabolism, and skin health. Increased water intake can support mental clarity and prevent fatigue.

How to Stay on Track with Your Water Drinking Goals

Try using a reminder app to keep that cup filled, or drink more by flavoring water with fruits. I like citrus and mint. You can also track your water intake with an app or journal. What’s important is finding a method that works best for your lifestyle.

Common Myths About Drinking Water

One common myth is that only plain water counts toward hydration. Milk, tea, coffee, juices, and sports drinks also count toward your daily fluid intake goal. Each person may need a different amount than exactly eight glasses a day. It’s important to listen to your body’s signals.

One Simple Water Drinking Tip for a Healthier You

  1. Obtain a large water container that measures 32-34 oz of water.
  2. Fill it up as you get ready in the morning.
  3. By noon, your goal is to drink the whole bottle.
  4. At noon, refill your bottle.
  5. Drink this container before going to bed.

Now, you’ve quickly measured out your water for the day. Your goal is simple, and you can easily see your progress throughout the day just by glancing at your water bottle. No more trying to remember how many glasses of water you have already consumed, making lists, or reasoning… Coffee counts, all that fruit has water in it, etc. You drank 68 oz of water, and you’re done!

If you’re not used to it, it may take some time to build up to drinking that much water. For me, it’s easy to drink two containers, and I’m often refilling it after the daily two are gone.  I find that my body will crave it. I can drink more water at a time when it’s room temperature. If you prefer cold water, add ice cubes.
