Every year we make turkey handprints for Thanksgiving and although they would certainly be treasured on paper, it’s fun to do something different each year. Handprint turkeys are one of my favorite Thanksgiving traditions! This year we made Thanksgiving Handprint Turkey Wood Clip Frames.

Our latest box of complimentary craft supplies from Craftprojectideas.com came with all these wonderful natural materials that just seemed perfect for a fall or Thanksgiving craft. I already had the wood clip frames on hand, so the idea came together.

How to make a Thanksgiving Handprint Turkey Wood Clip Frame

Needed Supplies:

Paint the child’s hand and make a turkey handprint on the frame.

After it dries, add the details: legs, wiggly eye, beak and waddle.

On the braiding cord, bead the child’s name using colored plastic beads, natural wood beads, and the natural block wood alphabet beads.

Knot the ends of the braiding cord and hot glue them to the back of the frame.

All done! Your Thanksgiving Handprint Turkey Wood Clip Frame is an adorable display for Thanksgiving or gift for grandparents.

Throughout the year your clip frame can hold photos or artwork by the child.

Preserve those precious little handprints each Thanksgiving. You’ll always treasure them!

NO BAKE CANDY COATED CHRISTMAS COOKIES #GiftDeliciously

These last few weeks before Christmas day are busy. There’s school parties, family gatherings, open houses, work dinners and special events for clubs. We have several of those this week ourselves. What about the treats you’re supposed to take along or share? When is the baking supposed to take place?! I love homemade everything but sometimes you have to cut yourself some slack. There’s not time for all we want and need to do. So here’s a thought – skip the baking just this time and get to the fun part- decorating!

Holiday Gifts & Recipes with OREO, Chips Ahoy!, Nutter Butter, Ritz Cookies and Crackers at Walmart #GiftDeliciously

Using packaged Chips Ahoy!, Nutter Butter and OREO cookies, some chocolate, candy and sprinkles, I made fun and festive holiday treats. Who can resist the little candies and sprinkles?

No Bake Candy Coated Christmas Cookies

Ingredients

Chips Ahoy!, Nutter Butter and OREO cookies
White chocolate
sprinkles
candies
choc chips
colored sugar

Directions

Melt chocolate in microwave or double boiler.
Decorate as desired.
Allow to dry on wax paper or cooling rack.

Try these decorating methods:

Dip cookies in chocolate and then in the sprinkles
Spread chocolate on just the bottom of the cookie
Roll edges in chocolate and then toppings
Try sandwiching two Chips Ahoy! together
Make Nutter Butter Santa cookies: frost top of cookie and sprinkle with red colored sugar for the hat. Dip a white chocolate chip in chocolate and stick on for the pom pom. Mini chocolate chips make the eyes and a cinnamon hot for the nose. Add some more melted chocolate for Santa’s beard and sprinkle with white pearls. See the photo below.

Kids love to decorate cookies so set up a cookie decorating session for a kid’s party. Or put an assortment on a plate or in a cookie box for the neighbors, teacher or mail delivery person.

Dip cookies in chocolate or spread with a knife. We did both. You might want to use spoon or a shaker jar for toppings. Simply dipping the coated cookie into the sprinkles works well too.

With a variety of toppings, everyone can make what appeals to them and each cookie is unique.

The options are endless!

You can find these great snack sized boxes at Walmart in a bin near the checkouts. They would make perfect little gifts for teachers and neighbors or for stocking stuffers. They’re inexpensive at 2/$3 so buy a bunch for little add-ons to all your gifts.

The holidays are a busy time for everyone, especially moms. They get to do a lot of the planning, buying, and baking. We like everything we do to be special but we need easy (and light on the budget)!

How about making a cake for your holiday guests? I don’t know about you but I love cake! Good cake, not just any cake. Wow them with this impressive dessert – White Chocolate Marshmallow Snowflake Cake. This recipe includes three special ingredients: BAKER’S ANGEL FLAKE Coconut, JET-PUFFED Marshmallow Creme, and BAKER’S White Chocolate.

All of these ingredients can be found in the Walmart Holiday Bake Center so when you’re out shopping, they’re easy to pick up – no extra stops.

Using this baking hack, you can make this cake using a cake mix and no one will ever guess you started with a mix.

Using vanilla, whole eggs and vanilla pudding will change your cake mix to more of an off white rather than pure white, but believe, me it will be worth it. Think “winter-white”.

After those cakes go in the oven, then there’s time to do the important part – the filling and frosting.

If you like marshmallow, you’ll love this marshmallow cream recipe. It’s super fast to make using JET-PUFFED Marshmallow Creme. Add in some butter, powdered sugar and vanilla, and you have this wonderful filling for your cake.

Now let’s get that cake frosted with White Chocolate Buttercream frosting. Melt BAKER’S White Chocolate and mix together with butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and almond if desired.

After frosting the cake, sprinkle with BAKER’S ANGEL FLAKE Coconut and pat into the frosting on the sides.

Garnish with sugared cranberries for a simple holiday look.

Yum, look how moist this cake is. You’ll get rave reviews on this one!

White Chocolate Marshmallow Snowflake Cake

Recipe Type: Dessert

Moist white layered cake with marshmallow filling, white chocolate buttercream frosting and coconut.

Ingredients

CAKE

1 box white cake mix

1 cup whole milk

4 large eggs

1/2 cup butter, melted

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/4 cup JELL-O Vanilla Instant Pudding

BAKER’S ANGEL FLAKE Coconut

Sugared cranberries, optional WHITE CHOCOLATE BUTTERCREAM FROSTING

1 cup butter

4 cups powdered sugar

4 oz BAKER’S White Chocolate, melted

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp almond extract (optional) MARSHMALLOW CREAM FILLING

3/4 cup butter, softened

7 oz JET-PUFFED Marshmallow Creme

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

1 1/2 tablespoons vanilla

Instructions

LAYER WHITE CAKE Mix butter and eggs in a deep bowl. Mix 30 seconds Add the cake mix powder, JELL-O Vanilla Instant Pudding, milk, butter, vanilla and mix until everything is combined, about 1 minute. Pour batter into two 8″ greased and floured round cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Allow cake to cool MARSHMALLOW CREAM FILLING In a large mixing bowl, beat butter with mixer on medium speed until smooth. Add JET-PUFFED Marshmallow Creme, powdered sugar and vanilla. Beat until smooth. WHITE CHOCOLATE BUTTERCREAM FROSTING Beat 1 cup of butter, on high until fluffy, about 2 minutes. Add in 1 cup of powdered sugar and beat on low just until mixed. Add in the melted white chocolate, vanilla and almond extract. Add the remaining powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time and mix on low speed until the mixture reaches frosting consistency. Add a Tbsp or two of milk if too thick.

FINISH THE CAKE Crumb coat both cakes with the White Chocolate Buttercream frosting. Smooth Marshmallow Cream Filling over one cake. Place second layer on top. Frost cake again with White Chocolate Buttercream frosting. Sprinkle cake with BAKER’S ANGEL FLAKE Coconut. Pat into sides of cake. Garnish with sugared cranberries if desired.
