I just love these beautiful Valentine Map Hearts. They’re unique and combine two things I really like – globes/maps and valentines. They’re not hard to make at all and they’ll be a keeper by whoever receives it.

Valentine Map Hearts
These are fastest and easiest with a sewing machine, but could absolutely be done with glue as well.
Supplies Needed:
- An old atlas or printed sheets with different maps of your choice on them. We used a seriously outdated atlas from the 1980s
- Ribbons, we used two different ones for each heart, one basic twine and then a sparkly silver one, about 4 to 5 inches of length is ideal for each heart.
- Quick setting glue or sewing machine
- Polyfill to stuff hearts
- scraps of fabric
- heart shaped template, we used a large cookie cutter
- scissors
- pen
- Optional – I added a quick tag onto these with a handwritten line that said Peace Love and {child’s name} on it and sewed those on to each as well.
Directions:
For each heart, follow the steps below. If making more than one, it would save the most time to cut all of your hearts and ribbons and then sew them together. Basically, work in an assembly line fashion.
Select the maps you would like to include. We paired different regions of the world together.
Trace your heart template and then cut them out.
Glue or sew two hearts together, making sure the correct sides are facing out. I added the ribbons during this first step to the top. Add personalized tag at this point if desired.
Leave one section open on the side so it can be filled. If gluing, wait until your heart has dried before stuffing. Sew or glue the hearts closed.
