Painting with Flowers from the Garden

This process art activity brings together two of my favorites – flowers and liquid watercolors. One of the greatest highlights of summer, for me, is my gardens.  I cut zinnias, Echinacea, sunflowers, dill, day lilies, salvia and sedum to paint with. They each resulted in a different texture on the paper. We used slightly diluted liquid watercolors and cardstock. Watercolor paper would be ideal. We’ve also tried painting with silk flowers, which works quite well too.Painting with Flowers Collagepainting with flowers13flower painting collage 3Painting with flowers paint colorsPainting with flowers collage 2painting with flowers preschoolpainting with flowers32
