Snowflake dough is super soft, white and lovely to play with! Not cold like real snow. I’ve been wanting to try this dough recipe for quite some time – it’s simple with just two ingredients – cornstarch and hair conditioner. I’ve also seen it made with lotion which would be equally as nice!
Our Snowflake Play Dough recipe was made with:
- 1 part Hair Conditioner (use an inexpensive white colored brand)
- 2 parts Corn Starch
Food coloring and glitter is optional. We didn’t add any this time.
This dough is easy to make and fun to play with! It does leave a bit of powdery cornstarch dust behind and the conditioner is a little oily on the table, but overall a really nice play dough for something different! We’ll make it again.

Does it dry out quickly or stay soft?
It stays soft! I put it in a container and saved it. You can always work in more conditioner/lotion.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing!
