Celebrate Fall with Happy Fall Leaf Handprint Template
Marking and celebrating the change of the seasons helps us slow down and appreciate the everyday natural changes we see in our world with children. We may take the change of seasons for granted, but children may be experiencing them for the first time, or for the first time they remember.
A new season means new colors. Look for and talk about the colors of fall and have children make their own choice about what color paint to make their handprint. Children like to make their own choices and it makes everyone’s project look a little different.

I recommend printing the template on cardstock or layering the lighter printer paper on a piece of colored cardstock. It will last longer and look better. I prefer to paint the child’s hand and press it on the paper instead of pressing the hand into a paper plate of paint. It creates a more defined handprint. However, either way, will work. I’d recommend a small amount of paint for the best results.
Coordinate the fall handprint template with a story. Some favorite preschool fall leaf books are listed below for your convenience. Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn!
