It’s Winter in the Woods! It’s not winter without snow and we have lots of it and more on the way! Snowstorms are exciting (for kids anyway). We enjoyed Mother Goose Time’s Snowstorm Art Invitation to Create. See our other Winter in the Woods activities at the end of this post.
Day 10 of our Winter in the Woods theme is Snowman. What can you build with snow? A snowman! A fort! Snowballs!
This is a picture from last weekend – our first big snow storm of December – about 7″ of snow. This weekend we’re expecting that much or more again! Snowstorms are exciting. There’s much fun snow to play this year but it’s been very cold.
Snowstorm Art Invitation to Create
Look at this beautiful snowstorm photo we used for to inspire our snowstorm art. The materials included:
- white paper
- black paper
- blue paper
- bubble wrap pockets for painting
First, we cut the white and black paper into triangles, like the pine tree shape, and glued them on the blue paper. We used white and silver paint to make snow prints over the trees with bubble wrap pocket. It works very well for little ones who don’t want to get paint on their hands.
One chose to use her hands.
The results of our Snowstorm Art Invitation to Create are modern winter scenes! Love this shape/winter/process art project. See more Winter in the Woods ideas below.
