We most often think of OxiClean for our laundry stain removal needs but OxiClean Versatile Stain Remover is more than just for removing dirt, grass stains, and spaghetti sauce from your laundry. It certainly can be added to every load for better stain removal, brighter colors, and whiter whites. OxiClean can be used to clean up after your pets or remove juice stains on carpet or clean hard surfaces in your kitchen or bathroom. OxiClean is also a great car upholstery cleaner so learn how to clean your car with Oxiclean.
I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for OxiClean. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and promotional item as a thank you for participating. Read my tips below for cleaning the car with OxiClean.
Clean Your Car with OxiClean
I used it to clean the interior of our car. Our vehicle’s upholstery is very light and I’ve been meaning to clean it for a while now.
Cleaning soft surfaces with OxiClean:
16 ozs of hot water
Scoop of Oxiclean up to the #2 mark
Stir to dissolve powder
Be honest, this isn’t our favorite car ever and we kind of had a “whatever” attitude about it but I really do believe in taking care of what you have. Also, I know I put the job off, feeling skeptical about how well it would clean up.
I didn’t want to waste my time if it wasn’t going to look any better afterward anyway. This is a bit embarrassing – it’s disgustingly dirty. Makes for good “before” photos! 100% real, that’s for sure.
That doesn’t look so bad huh? I thought it would look worse too. Let’s take a closer look:
Oh, that’s bad! Remember, I said disgustingly, embarrassingly, dirty!
Steps to clean your car with OxiClean:
Clean rag and bucket of OxiClean solution.
Apply solution to saturate the stain. Allow to stand 1-5 minutes.
Blot until stain is removed and rinse with clean water and blot until dry – or I used my stain remover machine to rinse, brush and then suction up the solution.
How to Clean Your Car with OxiClean
How did it do? Excellent! Amazing! It’s very clean and I’m impressed! It was as easy as the process can be and I didn’t have to reapply the stain remover or scrub, scrub, scrub.
I could practically see the stains and dirt removing after I applied the solution to the seat. OxiClean makes a wonderful car seat cleaner.
So much better, we will enjoy our car again!

@Joe Southard, I haven't tried a spray with a brush, but I imagine your car seats may need a deeper cleaning with more water.

Hi Stacy, the idea to have the stain removed from things that cannot be thrown in the wash is a lifesaver! Thank you for the tips and idea of how to care for your car, with children a ton of stains could be made or even work stuff can cause stubborn stains. What are the products you used usually? All the best!

Did it today. After putting on with clean rag I went over with clean water rag and used shop vac to get out some water. It cleaned the seats but some stains are reappearing. I plan to do just the stains again. It took me several hours to do by hand and then I read to avoid prolonged contact with skin. No problem so far but if doing by grab a pair of gloves.
