I’m just loving these Mother’s Day Clay Fingerprint Tags made of Sculpty Clay. It’s our first time using it and it’s as simple as can be. Of course I found this idea via Pinterest, from A Girl & a Glue Gun. We used white clay & then painted them with liquid watercolors. I was concerned about it rubbing off so I sprayed them an acrylic clear coat. Maybe we should have just gone with white or another colored clay – there’s lots of options. I’d actually recommend that instead of painting them now that I went this route.
Mother’s Day Clay Fingerprint Tags
They are decorated with beads and buttons using clear thread & wire – wire would be more durable. I put them on rings so they could be used as a key chain but they could also be used as pendants. The child’s name and year are written on the back with a Sharpie.
I like how the fingerprint really shows up on these! We’ll tie these onto a card for gift giving.
