It’s time for early childhood teachers everywhere to scramble and get holiday crafts and parent gifts ready to send home! If you’re in that boat, don’t worry—here’s a quick and easy idea that parents will treasure: a Printable Fingerprint Christmas Tree Card. This craft is simple, fun, and personal. Plus, I’ve made it even easier by providing a handy printable template so you can get those little hands busy immediately!

How to Make a Fingerprint Christmas Tree Card
Materials Needed
- Printable card template (Download below)
- Cardstock
- Ink pads or washable paints (we love Colorations Classic Colors Jumbo Washable Stamp Pads)
- Glitter
- Glue
- Wet wipes (to clean little fingers between colors)
Instructions
- Print the template on cardstock.
- Decorate the tree using fingerprints. Let children dip their fingers into ink pads or paint and press their fingerprints onto the tree to create colorful “ornaments” and decorations.
- Add glitter to the star. Assist children with adding a touch of glue and sprinkling glitter onto the star for a sparkling finish.
- Personalize the inside of the card. Encourage children to write a message, draw pictures, or even include a small photo inside the card.

Each card will be unique, showcasing the children’s creativity and personality. While crafting, provide wet wipes so they can clean their fingers before switching colors. This keeps the design vibrant and avoids color mixing. Adult assistance may be needed for younger children (ages 2-4), especially when handling glue and glitter.

Fun to Make & Give!
This project is more than just a card; it’s a keepsake! Parents will adore the personalized touch and cherish their child’s little fingerprints for years. The children were excited to make these cards and couldn’t wait to give them to their families.

We used large ink pads. The ink dries immediately and they are long-lasting. The ink washes right off little hands.
- 【Package Includes】You will receive 8 pieces ink pads in 8 colors, include red, yellow, green, blue, purple, orange, sky blue, pink. Various colors can encourage children to use their imagination to creat a great finger painting.
